Keep up to date with everything HoneyRose right here!

The HoneyRose Foundation is a unique charity with unique aims and objectives. We work tirelessly to make the dreams of so many UK citizens a reality.

From our headquarters in St Helens, our small team of staff and volunteers make sure that every detail is taken care of.

From 2004 when Lynn Duffy MBE set the charity up to now, over 8,000 people have benefited from a special wish and that number grows daily!

We cannot thank our supporters enough and only hope that we can continue to do our work for many more years to come!

Our building is a potential target for developers to purchase as part of a proposed redevelopment plan for St Helens town centre. The only way to prevent this is for us to purchase the building (which we currently lease) and secure the charities future for years to come.

This campaign's aim is to raise the £300,000 needed to purchase the building by asking everyone who sees our campaign to donate just £1.

Many families have relied on us at a time where no one else could help. Many individuals called out to us when no one else would listen.
Many children would be left with no parents and no memories.
Our closure would mean that these people once again are left helpless and alone.

It is not only our wish applicants who will suffer though. We have helped hundreds of people from the local area gain the necessary skills to enter into employment, and without us, many of our ex/volunteers would never have had the confidence to work full time.

This campaign is super important. It will guarantee that we are able to continue to make dreams come true for people who sadly have little time left. It also means that we are able to continue to give long lasting memories to children, grandchildren and friends.

So please, if you can afford to donate just £1, it will truly make all the difference. We have worked tirelessly for 14 years and we refuse to give up without a fight.

Tina and Charlie faced the English weather last week to undertake the Great South Run. The Great South Run is an annual 10 mile road running race which takes place in Portsmouth,  providing an intermediate distance between the ten kilometre and the half marathon runs.

This was all for a wonderful cause though. Back in 2016, we granted the wish of Jimmy Hollywood. As a huge Liverpool FC fan his ultimate dream was to take his boys to watch his beloved Liverpool in the league cup final.

All was arranged but sadly, Jimmy took ill and on the day was far too poorly to attend. Not wanting to miss out completely, he requested that his sons still attend and take lots of pictures and videos for him.

His sons went to the game and loved every moment.

Sadly a few months later, Jimmy passed away. His friends and family contacted us to say thank you for giving his sons the memories they deserved as well as giving Jimmy something that money cannot buy. Happiness.

Tina and Charlie have helped to ensure that more people get to experience something special by raising a whopping £383.78 to date!

Well done guys!

Amelie worked extremely hard to turn our wall into a great piece of artwork. Two weeks of nothing short of hard work put into this unbelievable piece of art.

Friday 22nd September saw Robert Taylor as George Michael, come to the wishes function room and perform his greatest hits to our amazed guests. He was joined by Charlotte Reilly a 17 year old aspiring singer with a bright future ahead of her and the voice of an angel.

The evening was fantastic, food was delicious and with Gary Conley as compere, we couldn't have asked for more! Our guests fully enjoyed themselves and even had the chance to get their hands on some great prizes donated to us from several sources.

A very special thankyou goes out to Charlotte, who with only 24hrs notice, performed a full set for us!

On 29th September 2017, we decided to hold another Volunteer Awards Evening, to celebrate the individuals who keep the cogs turning, and make the HoneyRose what it is today.

No matter what we ask, it is never too much for our hearty volunteers, who continue to make us proud every single day.

This year, we invited The High Sheriff of Merseyside, Stephen, and his lovely wife Gill to come and present the awards to the volunteers. They arrived early and spent a good hour talking with the volunteers, getting their stories and expressing their gratitude for the work that they do for the community.

Nights such as this are SO important! We know that without our team, the work we do would cease to continue, and for that, we are eternally grateful!

On Friday 25th August, we launched what is hoped to be the first of our monthly Tea Dances held in The Wishes Function Room in the Foundation’s town centre building. Attended by local people from across the area, including from residential care homes, the event was a resounding success with all those attending wanting more and committed to bringing their friends with them in the future. The afternoon included a wide selection of cream cakes, scones with tea and coffee and drinks from the bar, followed by a couple of games of bingo, a raffle and then the opportunity for them to relive their younger days with dancing to everything from waltzes from the 1940’s up to Rock ‘n Roll from the 50s and 60s.

Lynn Duffy MBE, founder and CEO of the HoneyRose Foundation, said that the afternoon was a greater success than she could have hoped for and thanked the volunteers that helped put the afternoon together. The next Tea Dance is scheduled to take place on Friday 29th September and on the last Friday of every month going forward. The only exception will be in December when there will be a Christmas Lunch followed by the afternoon Tea Dance.
